The Bee Cottage Rutland is a historic 16th-century thatched cottage located in Cottesmore village, near Rutland Water. With original exposed beams, a wood-burning stove, and ample living space, it can accommodate up to five guests. Originally a doctor’s house, it offers a charming and picturesque stay.
Despite its quaint appearance, the cottage has a generously sized living space. Featuring a separate seating area around close to a wood burner, a cozy reading corner, and a tranquil conservatory perfect for enjoying a cup of tea, this property is ideal for relaxation. The bright dining room, located between the kitchen, lounge, and conservatory, provides ample space for leisurely breakfasts or dinner for up to six guests.

The location couldn’t be better, with Rutland Water close by for beautiful walks, and just a few minutes' stroll to a shop, pub, and a fish and chip shop. Our host was also incredibly responsive, making everything super easy and stress-free. Highly recommend for a relaxing getaway!

9/01/2024Really beautifully restored cottage by the hosts very clean and comfortable beds! We really appreciated the delicious coffee and cake and personalised welcome note, even some little treats for the... read more dog which was a lovely touch.
Lots of games and jigsaws to occupy us when not exploring. We visited with my 80 year old mother in law so the downstairs bedroom was perfect for her.
The Sun Inn at the end of the road also did fantastic food and the bakery utterly delicious and perfect dog walk distance!

We enjoyed a relaxing family get-together at The Bee Cottage. Downstairs extremely spacious with various seating areas, yet retaining a cosy and comfortable feel. A short walk to both... read more the pub (good food) and chippy - which suited us fine. Loved the welcome of coffee and pastries (Hambleton Bakery lemon tart was divine!). Would happily stay there again.
8/05/2024The place is really well located with loads in the local area for kids. We stayed for a week and didn’t run out of things within a 30 minute drive... read more which is unusual. The place was very quaint, cost and homely, but could have been a little cleaner. Steve was very responsive and helped when we had questions. They make clear the low ceilings on the add, but definitely not for tall people!
