The Bee Cottage Rutland is a historic 16th-century thatched cottage located in Cottesmore village, near Rutland Water. With original exposed beams, a wood-burning stove, and ample living space, it can accommodate up to five guests. Originally a doctor’s house, it offers a charming and picturesque stay.
Despite its quaint appearance, the cottage has a generously sized living space. Featuring a separate seating area around close to a wood burner, a cozy reading corner, and a tranquil conservatory perfect for enjoying a cup of tea, this property is ideal for relaxation. The bright dining room, located between the kitchen, lounge, and conservatory, provides ample space for leisurely breakfasts or dinner for up to six guests.

Despite the surrounding buildings the outdoor area is private and peaceful and it was lovely to sit and listen to the birds without noise from passing traffic as is so often the case these days. There are lots of places to visit in the area to suit all tastes and we would love to return to sample more of the recommendations given by Steve.

Got the impression they want you to have an enjoyable and stress free stay in their property.... read more We felt immediately at home with all the lovely Xmas decs they had adorned the cottage with, which added to the already cozy atmosphere. Welcomed by a delicious cake from the local bakery too!, which was a lovely touch. Would really recommend Bee Cottage in Cottesmore. So much to see and do/walk around the area. Friendly pub 5 mins away too and a fabulous special dinner out at the Olive Branch Restaurant in Clipsham. Thank you to Steve and Hanri!

Lots of games and jigsaws to occupy us when not exploring. We visited with my 80 year old mother in law so the downstairs bedroom was perfect for her.
The Sun Inn at the end of the road also did fantastic food and the bakery utterly delicious and perfect dog walk distance!
